Each staff member is an expert in the area that your special person needs help.

What do they all do?

Neurosurgeon: A doctor who specialises in surgery on the brain, spine and other parts of the nervous systemDoctor: Is a specialist who helps your parent with a brain injury. They supervise the best recovery of your parent, talk with other health professionals involved and can give medicines
Nurse: An expert who will support your parent’s health such as helping with tasks like moving in and out of bed, staying clean and giving any medications neededWard Clerk: Is a person who helps your parent and their family with hospital paperwork and answers the phone when families call in 
Speech Pathologist: Helps your parent to talk, understand, think and swallow. They decide what food is safe for your parent to eatSocial Worker: Supports your parent to cope with the effects of their brain injury. They can talk with you and your family about your experiences and get any extra supports and services
Occupational Therapist: Helps your parent to practice tasks like getting dressed and having a shower. They support your parent to remember how to do things, pay attention and be safe in hospital, where they live and in the communityPhysiotherapist: Helps your parent with muscle strength, movement and balance
