Sam was 14 years old when his Mum had her brain injury.

Brain injury: Aneurysm and stroke

When: 29th October 2017

Length of time Mum spent in hospital: 50 days

Length of time Mum spent in rehabilitation: 5 months

Initial impact of brain injury: Mum needed help to get in and out of bed, eat and look after herself. At the start of her recovery her personality changed and she started swearing a lot! We could hear her yelling from down the corridor when we came to visit.

How is Mum now? Mum is going great now. She’s independent in most areas of her life and has got back to driving. She has help from a carer at times and she’s doing therapy in the community.
